Mgr.art. Naďa Uherová, ArtD.

Theater Director, Dramatalogue and Acting Coach

Naďa studied directing and dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava Slovakia, where she defended her doctorate in 2015. Since 2009, she has been a part of the World Theater Training Institute Berlin.

She has been sharing her knowledge as a lecturer through theatre workshops, acting courses and creative teambuilding for more than ten years in middle Europe. At the instigation of her growing number of students from various career and social backgrounds, she founded the everydayACTOR institute in 2015, through which she decided to share and show that the theatre and acting training methods are really useful for everyone in the process of creative growth and self development. As a director, dramaturgist and acting coach she has worked with different theatres and art institutions, culture centres.

She is currently teaching drama pedagogy at the University of Pedagogy in Vienna (KPH) and is dedicated to writing and directing plays, mostly for children. She also works on stage speech techniques and theatre research. She is a member of IDEA Austria and the VASTA – voice and speech trainers association.

I met Naďa in Slovakia. I had a few hours of acting before her departure, and we finished preparing for a casting via skype from Canada. Thanks to the course, I understood that acting is not only about pretending, but above all about knowing oneself and freeing yourself from your ego.
